Covid-19 has got us thinking more and more about our immune system and how to protect it. There is no magic pill you can take to simply make your immune system stronger. It is complex and relies on different parts of your body to be functioning correctly. However, many factors can contribute to a healthier immune system. Your best defense is to start with a healthy lifestyle. A nutritious diet, regular exercise, sleep, minimizing stress and incorporating adaptogens into your lifestyle can support immune function and overall health.

A healthy lifestyle is also about balance, so why not enjoy your favourite classic cocktail with some added benefits. This Immune Boosting Mojito recipe is made with Thrive Remedies Defense organic adaptogenic tea. Defense is a blend of honeybush tea, calendula, astragalus, blue cornflower and elderberry. Elderberry is a powerful adaptogen well known for its immune boosting properties. Check out the full immune boosting mojito recipe below.

Optional:

You can substitute the agave for an elderberry simple syrup.

Instructions:

  1. Place mint leaves, agave, white rum and lime juice in the bottom of your glass.
  2. Gently muddle with a bar muddler or the end of a long wooden spoon.
  3. Add ice and Thrive Remedies Defense until the glass is about ⅔ of the way full.
  4. Top with soda water and give it a little stir.
  5. Garnish with mint and lime.
  6. Enjoy!

Note:

Note: You just want to bruise the mint, try not to break it up too much. Muddling releases the essential oils from the mint for flavour.
